Overview

PO Validator is a Shopify app that enforces Purchase Order number validation at checkout. This privacy policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a merchant or buyer.

Data we collect

PO Validator does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data from buyers or merchants.

The only data the app stores is the validation configuration set by the merchant (such as minimum length, required prefix, regex pattern, and custom error messages). This configuration is stored exclusively as Shopify metafields within the merchant's own Shopify store.

How data is used

The validation configuration is used solely to check whether a buyer's Purchase Order number meets the defined rules during checkout. No buyer input is logged, saved, or transmitted outside of Shopify's own infrastructure.

Validation runs server-side via Shopify Functions. No data is sent to external servers operated by us.

Third parties

We do not share any data with third parties. The app operates entirely within Shopify's infrastructure. Shopify's own privacy policy applies: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy

Data retention

Merchant configuration data (stored as Shopify metafields) is automatically removed when the app is uninstalled from the store. We do not retain any data after uninstallation.

Your rights

As a merchant, you can delete all app configuration data at any time by uninstalling the app. If you have questions about data stored in your Shopify store, please refer to Shopify's data portability and deletion options in your Shopify Admin.
